Greetings Friends!
As always, I hope this letter finds you happy, healthy, feeling loved, and ready for 2018!
With each new year, many of us find ourselves reflecting back on the closing year - reminiscing about our personal highs and lows, evaluating local and global events, celebrating new life, love, & friendships.... and mourning those we have lost. It's a time to look back and ask without judgement...how did we do? Did we achieve the goals we set for ourselves? How did we handle the challenges life presented to us, especially those that came out of nowhere and smacked us upside the head? I know many of you had some doozies this year...we sure had a few, too.
As I ponder these thoughts, I realize that each year is an opportunity for a mini life review. A sort of self evaluation. It's an opportunity to look at the life lessons that were presented in the ups and downs and to see how much we've grown in this latest chapter. Some years are more exciting than others, I guess. And sometimes an uneventful year is the rest we need between the big ones. But even the most restful years come with moments that merit reflection.
For me, 2017 was year for substantial growth...both in business and in my personal life. The physical challenges that I experienced definitely taught me the importance of taking breaks and honoring my personal time. I learned that saying "No" can be a really good thing sometimes....for everyone (this was a tough one for me!). I also learned that there are many great teachers, but that I always get the greatest education from Spirit. And I was reminded (for the millionth time) that LOVE always wins....no matter what.
In addition to the big lessons, I also experienced a lesson, first hand, in Spiritual "nudging". After months of 80 + degree temperatures in my office, and countless emails to the landlord, it became clear that the situation wasn't supposed to improve. And by "supposed to", I mean that ...it was a sign. It was the Universe telling me that it was time for me to move. I could choose to ignore the signs or to take action, knowing that the discomfort would continue or worsen if I decided to stay. And when the loud voices and noises from the other offices started interfering with client sessions....well, that just sealed the deal. You see, sometimes a thermostat war isn't just a thermostat war. And sometimes a noise issue isn't just a noise issue! In readings, Spirit often comes through talking about discomfort...and how relentless discomfort is a huge sign that a change needs to take place. I knew that my discomfort was Spirit giving me a kick in the pants to start looking for a new place....a consolidated space where my healing, reading, and class room areas would be together. And a bigger space for teaching and gathering.
No sooner did the thoughts about possibly moving enter my mind, more signs began to present themselves. Before I even had a chance to really begin my search, I walked past a window less than a block away with a "For Rent" sign in the window. Boom. Funny how that works.
Upon further inquiry, I discovered that the space with the sign was available immediately. Which was nice for someone, but not for me. My lease wasn't up until the end of January. That's when I was told that the space next store would be available soon. How soon? ..February 1st. Uh huh. Then I noticed the angel wings, resting on the shoulders of the gown in the store window.
Thank you, Universe.
So.....
....now that I have properly reflected on 2017, I'm excited to dive into 2018! And it's shaping up to be a year of change, starting with the big move.

As Light Works continues to grow and evolve, I am both excited and terrified. But I know it's time to lean on my faith and to know that this is part of my next chapter....a new beginning for the services that I currently offer, as well as some new and exciting classes, workshops, and events coming up. You'll see more focus on meditation and mindfulness, children's programs, and mediumship in 2018....and I can't wait. And these are just the things that I already know about. God only knows what else is in store!
But no matter what 2018 brings for us, I hope that we get through it with as much laughter and support and kindness and love as possible - for ourselves and each other. I hope that your resolutions be less about giving up stuff and more about co-creating and enjoying a happy, fulfilling year. If you are being nudged to make changes in your life, whether big or small, I hope that you notice the signs from your Spirit team that will help guide you along the way. And if you're feeling nervous or fearful, I hope that you find the courage to take your next steps.
So what are we waiting for? Let's get started by setting our intention for a happy and healthy and abundant 2018. Let's manifest great things and remember.... our thoughts and words are powerful. Choose them wisely!
